Westwood and Around
Westwood itself is an interesting place. Following the London Blitz Westwood Quarry was converted into an immensely secure art depositary for priceless artefacts including the crown jewels; in fact Queen Mary came to visit the quarry in 1943. There is also a beautiful church, St Mary the Virgin
The plentiful historic and retail attractions of Bath are only 20 minutes drive away, whilst further a field are numerous National Trust properties, including Stourhead and Dyrham Park and natural wonders such as Stonehenge, the Forest of Dean and the caves at Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole.
